Erciyes is an extinct volcano standing alone on the Anatolian plateau, and the ski resort on its northern face is the largest in central Turkey, with 112 km of runs and modern lifts. It is 90 minutes from Cappadocia, which makes a day on the snow possible without moving hotels. More than half the runs are graded intermediate and a third are beginner, so it suits first-timers as well as experienced skiers. Equipment can be rented at the resort and instructors are available for lessons.

What to expect

• This is a private tour. Only you and your own group take part, with your own guide and vehicle.
• Hotel pick-up and drop-off in Cappadocia are included. The drive is about 90 minutes each way.
• The tour starts at 09:00 and you are back at your hotel in the late afternoon.
• Your guide helps you rent equipment and buy lift tickets on arrival, and is there through the day.

Good to know before you book

• The tour runs during the ski season only, from mid-December to mid-March. January and February have the most reliable snow.
• Ski passes, equipment rental and lunch are not included. Lift tickets at Erciyes are sold by the ride rather than by the day, and a full day of skiing with rented equipment usually comes to somewhere between 30 and 55 dollars per person, depending on how much you ski. There are restaurants and cafes at the base of the slopes.
• Ski lessons can be booked at the resort, with instructors available for beginners and for children. Tell us in advance if you would like one arranged.
• Bring warm layers, gloves, sunglasses and sun cream. Jackets and trousers can also be rented at the resort if you do not want to travel with them.

Cancellation Policy

To receive a full refund, you can cancel up to 24 hours before the tour start date, in local time. Cancellations made after that are non-refundable. For this purpose the tour start time is taken as 09:00.
